My main man and carpenter, did me up some kitchen shelving this weekend to hold my small appliances where they'll be in the open and handy. Freed up cupboard space too.Exciting? Not to many, but this is just another special thing he did just for me. I painted them to match the trim and they look great! The plan is to get all we can done in this home, before we leave for our place in New Hampshire in May. I'm feeling pretty happy these days, despite those in government trying to bring us all to ruin.Onward, ever, onward.. 8)dj
The shelves are attached at the back
on a strong board and so, it is all one piece. One beauty of them is
that they can be removed, or moved to another area and the 'damage' to
pantry cupboard would only require a new veneer and trust me, I can DO
me some veneer now.
For those catching up...This is the 'Before' to our remodel on Kitchen..

Knocked out wall on left and right, built a hallway to the right and opened it all up as ybou can see, above.
We really do work well as a team, Sweetheart, thank you!;)

..for the rest of my life.
This is a joy to think on, not intimidating. I know, for certain, some are married to people and are tired of them, after, a short while. My guess, is that, many of these won't make five plus years married we have and if so, not, happily.
Why? Perhaps, because they married for the wrong reason. At least, one of them might have.
The idea of marriage can be heady and intoxicating, but the reality can be a drudge after the honeymoon for some. I married for the wrong reasons, twice. I loved my husbands, but both times we did not know each other well and in each case, also, my mates thought we 'should' be married for convention sake and not living in sin. Bad call. These men weren't into being a couple, as in being aware of how they appeared to others.
So, for years I was in the never marry, again, mode and these were times when I was in love, but what was the difference with Steven? First, he proposed, properly and with romantic flair..on one knee with a crowd gathering to enjoy the moment with us. But more than that, it was, for the first time in my life feeling right. We were and are, best of friends. I haven't for one moment looked back with regret, but ahead to each new day with him.
If you don't feel like you, truly, have it all with your lover, my guess, is that you probably don't and that is sad, when, looking at a lifetime together, isn't it?

Some might think that to rave about a kitchen is silly, but those who really enjoy playing with foods can understand.
It's more spacious since the remodel - we having done it all ourselves - and everything is where it needs to be. I have room to move with other folks in there, but I can get to food, appliances, pots n pans, all in a turn. I've never had a good well equipped factory for my ideas to be put to the test.
Tonight's fare: Rosemary roasted chicken, rice with white seasoned gravy (low fat, but delicious) and lovely peas. Again, I have my loving and indulgent husband to thank. Of course, he benefits, too! I have never been so relaxed, or, performed so well in my cheffette mode.
Enjoy!

Oh yes! I'm already off and shopping and in fact, have most of it done.
This year, I seem to need it a bit earlier, so, some goodies are already on their way from online treasure hunts and soon, I'll be out to shop the store as things become a bit calmer with Mom.
The winds are blowing so cold tonight in the high desert and I feel all toasty thinking of a pretty tree, colorfully wrapped prezzies and goodies to create and bake...
Goodnight and Merry Christmas!
