I am working on being more focused on sharing my faith and interacting with unchurched people. One of the ways I am doing this is by trying to go where unchurched people are. Today, I went to Spring Park. I spent time in prayer sitting on a bench. Then I noticed some boys at the skate park.
When I was done with my prayer time, I walked over to the boys. I found 4 boys who had not been to our church in awhile. I asked a bunch of questions about skateboarding and how they do the tricks they do. These boys are middle schoolers who only know some basic stuff, but they were being good teachers showing me how it is done.
Since they already knew me as Pastor Dennis it was easy to talk with them about church and some special events we have coming up soon. They sounded excited and said they would be there. One of the boys also gave me some info on his older, married sister who recently had a baby. Another family to reach out to.
As I was leaving, one of the boys said, "You learn something new every day." I felt like it was time well spent.

Hey, Gang,      Did you know that Luis Palau will be coming to Central Arkansas (NLR) in October for a 2 day festival?  Luis Palau has drawn over 47 million people to festivals and recorded over 1 million known decisions for Christ.  Traditional Crusades do not reach a significant number of people today, but a new format called a Festival does.      A festival involves 1 to 3 days of activities all culminating in a worship experience designed for the unchurched and the unbelievers.  In addition to worship, they may have athletic events, community projects, concerts, skate board competitions, etc.  This variety of events brings in large numbers of people, then the gospel can be shared in those venues and in the worship experiences.  You can log onto www.palau.org for more information.        Many of our churches are not close to NLR but several are.  All our churches can participate at some level.

Brothers,

CrossBridge will be having a formal dedication service for its building on Sunday, June 7, at 3:30 p.m. We would like to have you share that time with us. We are setting it at 3:30 p.m. to give GB folks Post Oak Grove and Wolf Bayou the opportunity to attend. Please share this invitation with your church.

Also, if you, or anyone you know, are planning to attend, could you let me know; there are preparations we need to make based on an estimated expected attendance.

You can find a map to our building on our website www.crossbridge-church.com, click "Contact Us," or follow the very simple directions here: Going south on I-30, take Exit 126, which is the Alexander Road exit. You will exit the interstate onto a service road. From the service road, turn right at the Texico station to Alexander Rd. Go north on Alexander Rd. about 1/4 mile to its end at Arkansas Hwy. 5 (Stagecoach Rd.). Turn left and go 1.2 miles and you will find the church on the left.

We may not have our church sign up yet, but we do have a banner out.

Thank you for helping us get the word out and for considering attending this special event.
