INTERESTS

  • Interests: Photography, working on movies, watching movies, books, travel, music, travel, aspiring to write someday and I LOVE hockey - Capitals, Russian players, Sabres and more everyday; example 2 of my favorite Capitals are Canadian and Swedish right now. (I love Greener but I'm talking about Laich)
  • Favorite Music: Indie rock/pop, anything that reminds me of highschool new wave, traditional Jazz and been getting really into girl vocalists lately - fast slow doesn't matter. And know any good Russian bands? Please suggest to me! My favorite Japanese band in highschool was The Blue Hearts. I was lucky enough to see them in Kanazawa in 1988!
  • Favorite Movies: Genres * Horror - about any but weaning myself off big money makers. Combine horror/musical numbers? SWOON! * Wes Anderson/Sophia Coppola - good rhythm, make you think, are usually driven by a perfect soundtrack. * French/Italian New Wave * Anglophile since um, birth? * smart 'chick flicks * Sucker for dark laughs, Tropic Thunder, Hamlet 2, Pineapple Express etc * confess, I'll never get 'over' good popcorn flicks * Tons more - I live movies ok?
  • Movies I Want to See: 4/19/09 - Adventureland, new Star Trek (JJ Abrams NOT Trekie), kind of out of touch with new or releases coming out - hey it's hockey playoffs ok?
  • Favorite Books: Anything Vampire not writted down for age, Hunter S Thompson (he writes like I prefer to photograph, in the middle of story, not traditional cool observer), always a billion travel guides/journals, Russian/Japanese language learning, Writing and photo guides -- trying to widen my horizons but I read 100's of magazines it feels like.
  • Books I Want to Read: None I can think of. sad isn't it?
  • Favorite Quotes: Get back to you, I'm not a quote person but I've seen a few recently that really struck me.
  • Favorite Foods: I eat like a 12yr old boy, but before I got sick and my body chemistry really messed up, I loved all fruit, meat free protein and about the only things that haven't changed are, v-8 seltzer/club soda/as long as not sweet ff milk and ice cream
  • Favorite Places: Whole West Coast (NW woods and San Diego top the list) though I've been a solid East Coast girl for 9+ yrs now, Brooklyn, anywhere in Manhattan thats not Disney-fied yet, CONEY ISLAND!, Willimington NC, bits of Florida, Buffalo NY, and looking for a forest area near Western NY that can compare to childhood stomping grounds (where Twilight is set, VERY realistically written in that aspect), Sorry but mountains look like big hills and trees look anemic.
  • Places I Want to Visit: Europe (everywhere), Russia and well where don't I want to go? In Portland a group of friends even learned passable Icelandic for a trip we tried to take way back (sniff, never happened), Also rural USA - I've always stuck to outsides. Open fields... there was this field of sunflowers I drove past in Kansas once I wanted to stop at so bad once but was on strict deadline...
  • Anything Else: The rest, definately underconstruction in general but with direction. Just coming off of EXTENDED health issue world of lameness (can't say H word can I?). Genetic brain & spinal cord defects combined with one botched surgery and getting hooked on all the drugs the doctors pushed over the 5 year ordeal. Many plans and ideas combined with a tendancy towards over enthusiasm when meeting new people I like alot still... bear with me. They say it'll "level off"...
