INTERESTS
Interests: trying to figure out what my interests actually are
Favorite Music: acoustic, singer-songwriters, hybrid genres, holiday tunes, instrumentals, the sound of poetry from the mouths of my friends
Favorite Movies: Witness, Blade Runner, Field of Dreams, films from the '70s, Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, French cinema, Amelie, Rififi, The Conversation, Blue Velvet (ok, anything by David Lynch except Wild at Heart), old classic westerns, screwball comedies, black-and-whites, The Silence of the Lambs, films with beautiful snow. Movies I Want to See: those which actually have intriguing (that is, well-written) scripts, believable acting, and subtle filmmaking techniques
Favorite Books: Anything by DFW (RIP), contemporary poetry, Kerouac, books on film, books on writing (have too many of these), novels by existential authors, confessional poetry, historical biographies (Joan of Arc), political autobiographies (Hilary Clinton), psychology texts, more poetry, books about contemporary architectural and interior design, art books
Books I Want to Read: see above
Favorite Quotes: anything that doesn't make me feel like I'm wasting my life. Because there are a lot of quotes out there that tell you what you should be doing but you're not.
Favorite Foods: spicy foods like Indian dishes. Asian cuisine minus sushi (don't like the antiseptic aftertaste), noodles, cookies, cake, chocolate, fresh steamed veggies, pretty much all fruits, soups (you name it), eggs.
Favorite Places: Paris. As in France. London. Toronto. LA. San Diego. Temecula. San Francisco. New York. Chicago
Places I Want to Visit: More of Europe. Japan. Morocco. Africa. England again (first time was too short). I used to want to see China but I don't like their human rights violations and that they ship our jobs overseas to Chinese people who make very, very little and are treated terribly.
