I'm broke as fuck, thanks to not being able to afford health insurance and getting slammed with two surgeries last summer. My goal this year is to not spend any money on running. These days, running is what's saving me from offing myself and having my husband use the life insurance money to take care of the bills, and I shouldn't have to cough up cash and join ten different clubs just to go running. All I have to show for entering races and joining groups last year are a couple of ill-fitting shirts and an overwhelming case of the fuck-yous. No one should have to spend money to run, or be made to feel like a failure because they can't cough up the cash for every race that comes along. The difference between a jogger and a runner is NOT an entry blank. Fuck that noise. If you run, you're a runner.
