Hello Clarita, you bet it is still raining, been 45 degrees and raining for several days, supposed to continue for the next week. Yes my picture on Facebook is me from last winter with my buddy at the vet clinic after he received a chemo treatment, I still look the same with a goatee and mustache. Hope things are going well with you and you had a chance to go visit Jerry and your parents on the 17th, was thinking of you.
Hey I m actually here again. I lost contact with myself, or the compose button to blog, so pardon me if I cheat on this. luv you guys. Thanks for stopping by. Clarita
I have friends that winter in Bullhead City, AZ. They love the winters there and claim that AZ has such a variable climate based on geography that just about every climate imagineable can be found there. Also have other friends who have lived in Albuquerque for over ten years now and absolutely love it.
We get years like this about every ten to fifteen years, with chilly, damp summers. Hopefully this winter will not be a repeat of last winter which was also a record breaker for cold and snow.
@Slowpoke:Tucson is sauna city right now. This time of year is monsoon season. The extreme heat temp combined with the summer storm weather as it passes through the region make the summers unbearable without refrigerated air conditioning. Although Arizona and New Mexico are both in the Southwest, the climates are quite different. Spring, Fall and most of the Winter in Albuquerque are nice & comfortable. During this time, you can actually get away without heating or air-conditioning. For summer cooling, usually swamp coolers are adequate, so long as they are serviced regularly and running properly. Back when my dad did carpentry work he was able to work in and out of his workshop year round. Albuq. heat is dry until monsoon season comes about, even so, the humidity is minimal. We were in Albuq. when Tucson peaked 113-115 degrees. I can t imagine not having a summer. I m sorry for all the sogginess you ve had to put up with. God willing summer will arrive to warm you and shine upon you Michigan.
There has been a bit of flooding south of me in Michigan, but not nearly as much as last year. We are supposed to get 2 of rain tomorrow, so things are going to be real wet. Tucson has extreme humidity? Our normal summers are temps in the mid-80s with 90% humidity, kinda like a Florida winter. I would probably melt in temps of 110+, cannot imagine that even. July here was the third coldest ever recorded, 4 days of above normal temps, 1 day average, the remaining 26 days were all below normal. I am not complaining, do not like real warm weather, but would like things a bit drier so some outside projects can get completed before the snow starts to fall.
@Slowpoke:I remember last year Michigan suffered flood after flood. Is the rain continuous but steady? I hope your region didn t suffer an encore of last years disasters and the aftermath. Well perhaps the pine tree growth spurts might be replenishment for all the downed trees from the previous years relentless storms. Mushroom growth? hmm? The temperatures out here are 110 on the average. Reached 115 last month. People tend to be nocturnal in this region. I noticed that the houses on the block seemed to have lots of lights and tv s on when I remembered to put out the trash at 2 am. I guess they are hangin on to summer and watching old movies too. I wonder if depression runs amuck in the NE part of the country, lacking a good summer so far this year? Not boasting, but in Albuq. the sun shines almost daily, even after a snow or heavy rainfall. Lots of rainbow activity. Tucson has extreme humidity in summer, but the rest of the year is good. Hope you get an Indian Summer, better late than never!
We are getting a brief break in the rain, supposed to start again this afternoon and go through to Sunday. We are getting a real good crop of mushrooms with all this rain and the pine trees out front have grown over a foot this summer, have never seen them grow this fast. End of summer? Heck we are still waiting for it to start, have not been able to get my outside painting done because of the wet, cold weather this year.
