  Thanks, Chelly. Yes, it s true, we must live in today and not in yesterday. Just because we fail to miss one mark does not make us a failure. That can only happen if we don t learn our lessons and strive to make changes that will bring us closer to the goals we set.
  
  How are you doing, my friend? I was a bit under the weather the beginning of this week, but feel great now. It s a constant reminder of a time when I let the stress of life get me down. Now, I must live in today, forget the past and continue to take risks. Who knows? The next time may be THE time, but if I quit, I ll never know. Hugs to you, my Lady Love. Take care and enjoy life.   The act of compassion begins with full attention, just as rapport does. You have to really see the person. If you see the person, then naturally, empathy arises. If you tune into the other person, you feel with them. If empathy arises, and if that person is in dire need, then empathic concern can come. You want to help them, and then that begins a compassionate act. So I d say that compassion begins with attention.

  Compassion literally means to feel with, to suffer with. Everyone is capable of compassion, and yet everyone tends to avoid it because it s uncomfortable. And the avoidance produces psychic numbing -- resistance to experiencing our pain for the world and other beings :)....
